This art print is part of my series Beyond Text. In this series, I re-interpret a quote from a classic book through decorative hand lettering and illustration. By blurring the boundaries between word and image, I mirror how personal and collective stories come together to create a greater cultural narrative about selfhood and (be)longing to nature.

The quote here is from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's The Little Prince, translated by Katherine Wood (1943). Since the quote has a deep universal meaning, I didn't feel the need to reference specific elements from the story (except maybe for the stars and the theme of home). Instead, I show a little girl who has presumably climbed up some heart strings to stargaze on top of a crescent moon. Her small house below is surrounded by rolling hills, trees, and flowers.
