Returning to the Inherent Value of Life
Money, in its intended form, has no value. It is simply a medium of exchange. Yet, our collective fear of scarcity has turned money into a proxy for human worth. Consquently, we have turned to market systems to cope with this loss. Commodification happens when we can no longer see an item's intrinsic value, whether that be a drawing, an essay, a flower, a piece of technology, or a home. It devalues our creative energy and our right to feel at home in this world.
To heal from these economic-psychological systems, we don't reject our needs and wants in the physical world. True flourishing isn't about self-sacrifice. It is about practicing the gratitude of recognizing the inherent abundance of our existence and the value of our creative gifts.
