In this art print, I combine the cottagecore themes of dried flowers and apothecary. The winter scene out the window contrasts with the warm colourful interior. Dried flowers are most useful when flowers can’t bloom outside. So while we wait for the world outside to thaw, we preserve all the beauty that we've known to appreciate on the inside.

Humility towards the Earth, appreciating beauty, being resourceful, and caring for self and others; these are timeless human qualities we want to preserve. So, cottagecore isn't a remnant of a colonial past, it is the preservation of a sacred femininity that resisted through it.
