Returning to the Inherent Value of Life
Money, in its intended form, has no value. It is simply a medium of exchange. Yet, our collective fear of scarcity has turned money into a proxy for human worth. Consquently, we have turned to competitive markets to cope with this loss. Commodification happens when we lose sight of an item's intrinsic value, whether that be a drawing, an essay, a flower, or a home. We see our world through its usefulness, devaluing our creative energy and our right to feel at home in this world.
To heal from these economic-psychological systems, we don't reject our needs and wants in the physical world. True flourishing isn't about self-sacrifice. It is about practicing the gratitude of abundance and recognizing the inherent worth of our existence and the value of our creative gifts.
